A change of pace

As mentioned in my last blog it was our intention to be back in Nias from August this year, however we are expecting new member of our family in October so we will not be running Holidays with Purpose trips this year. The Indo Jiwa will no longer be operated by us in the future either, but we still have ideas of exciting and purposeful holidays in the future....so watch this space!

Indo Jiwa on Holiday.

The Indo Jiwa is taking it’s own holiday this year and will no longer available for charter in the 2010 season.
However if you would still like to join us in our work in Nias, we will be there for August – December 2010 working in Gunungsitoli on developing a vocational training centre for the Pondok Rahmat orphanage.
Surf and cultural trips to Asu, Lagundri and Afulu can be arranged so take advantage of our almost 15 years of experience in the area. Come and lend a hand to those who really need it and have a Holiday that will change your perspective on life as you know it.

2010 season dates available now!

Check out our schedule page and pick your dates for 2010 before they all fill up! Trips will run from August through to November in 2010 with plenty of exciting projects to be apart of including trips to the Banyak Islands and a focus on the Podok Rahmat Orphange in Nias. Come and join us make a positive difference in the lives of others...yourself included!

CALL FOR EMERGENCY RELIEF HELP - Padang Earthquake

Dear Friends, It was with heavy hearts that we saw the images of the destruction of Padang on our televisions just a few days ago, but already those scenes have faded as other news takes precedence. For the people of Padang, the earthquakes that hit on the afternoon of the 30 Sept and the morning of the 1st October are still all too real. The death toll is now over 1,000 and expected to climb. Many homes, businesses, schools, shops and hospitals are destroyed and the community struggles to maintain a sense of normality amidst the chaos.

Dental and FAITH programmes in Ujung Sialit and Nias

We just completed two of our most exciting trips this year.
The earlier part of September saw us once again bring Jill and Peter Hofman and their dental team from the Sunshine Coast in Queensland to our projects. The trip started at the Podok Rahmat Children's home where Jill and her team looked after the children's teeth while the rest of the group, led by Lionel and Pauline Plant painted up a storm, brightening up the girls dorm and the main eating and meeting rooms.
